College campuses are some of my favorite places to go on a guerrilla marketing campaigns. You have a lot of people condensed in a general area who have a lot of demographic similarities. You’re generally dealing with people between the ages of 18 and 25 who are high school graduates who care about their education and bettering themselves.
Here are some guerrilla marketing tactics that I have seen used on campuses.
- Side walk chalking.
- Free T-Shirts with your logo and info on the front and back. Give them mostly to male students.
- Free Buttons. Students will slap them on their jackets. tote bags, and backpacks.
- Free Ramen. Slap a sticker with your logo and url on a bag of Ramen and give them out for free on central campus.
- Slide your flier into a bunch of copies of the college’s newspaper. These are usually free and have stands all over campuses.
Hopefully this gets you thinking about all the possibilities. You just have to be careful not to get kicked off campus. I’m 28 years old, but still look like a college student so I can get away with it.
