Yet Another Reason To Read The Fine Print

Early this morning at 12:01AM was the “Facebook Landrush” that had everyone trying to snag the vanity URLs that they wanted.  Even though the rules and limitations were posted online long before they opened it up registration, there were still tons of people that were in for a surprise.

Your Facebook Page must meet two requirements: it must be live on Facebook prior to the May 31, 2009 cut-off date and have a minimum 1,000 fans as of May 31, 2009.

At this time, generic words are not available as usernames. Facebook encourages all users and Page administrators to create a username that closely matches the true identity of their name or business.

Do your research in the future so you don’t run full speed into a brick wall the next time there is something like this on another site.
