I have a site currently under development called Audio9. Its an Audio Book store that sells independently produced content that is DRM free. Anyone can record and audio book and upload it to Audio9. Audio9 handles all the encoding, generating mp3 as well as m4b (native ipod audio book format). The seller is able to set the price they want to sell their audio book at. Audio9 handles all the payment processing, hosting, and delivery of the content. Sellers will receive commission checks or direct deposits into their bank accounts.
